EA Training is extremely proud to be a part of EA Technology's unique technical heritage within the power industry stretching back over five decades from its beginnings as the Electricity Association Research Centre.

Our specialist expertise has gained a reputation for providing an environment where apprentices and trainees can harness the latest technology through real world lessons and cutting-edge information, which is designed to complement the long-term development of apprentices in their chosen profession and specialism. Here at EA Training, we strive to equip professionals with the necessary tools and competencies to excel in their respective fields, fostering innovation, sustainability, and growth within the industry.

We are here to upskill you and help you succeed.

An apprenticeship is a valuable pathway for individuals seeking to develop practical skills and gain experience in a specific profession or trade. The three essential components of an apprenticeship are:

  1. Programme of Study: This involves structured learning and education related to your chosen field. The theoretical knowledge gained during this study complements the practical aspects of your job.
  2. Full-Time Paid Job: Apprenticeships provide a unique blend of on-the-job training. As an apprentice, you work in a relevant job role while earning a wage. This real-world experience is invaluable for honing your skills and understanding the intricacies of the profession.
  3. End Point Assessment (EPA): At the conclusion of your apprenticeship, you undergo an assessment known as the End Point Assessment. This evaluation ensures that you have acquired the necessary competencies and can apply them effectively.

Apprenticeships offer a bridge between theory and practice, allowing you to grow both professionally and personally.

  • Apprenticeships are available to anyone over the age of 16, with no upper age restrictions.
  • Applicants must live in England and not already be in full-time education.
  • Be employed in a relevant role to the apprenticeship programme they are applying for
  • Apprentices are for new hires, as well as existing employees who would benefit from and have the desire to acquire new knowledge and skills
  • Have Maths and English GCSE grade 4 (C) or above or equivalent and be able to supply certificates upon application or have completed Level 2 Functional skills in Maths and English.
  • Meet the standard academic entry requirements of the programme (this may include GCSE’s, A Levels, BTECs, undergraduate degree etc).

Apprentices need to balance their time between work and study, so being motivated and hardworking is key. As apprentices spend a significant amount of time learning on the job, you will also need to be professional and able to train and undertake work responsibilities equally.
