Introduction to Arc Flash

Course summary

This course is built around the principle that understanding electrical risk is essential to managing it effectively. Arc flash incidents can have severe safety, operational and financial consequences, yet many organisations lack a clear understanding of how and why they occur.

This one-day Introduction to Arc Flash course provides a practical foundation in arc flash awareness, combining key theory with real-world context. Drawing on EA Technology’s experience in delivering Arc Flash assessments, the course aligns with recognised standards including IEEE 1584 2018 and NFPA 70.

Delegates will gain an understanding of the causes and consequences of arc flash events, how risk is assessed, and the steps that can be taken to reduce exposure. The course supports more informed decision making around safety, maintenance and asset management.
